A little About Me

I’m more than a guy who was just on a reality TV show.  I changed my life.  I won the 3rd season of NBC’s The Biggest Loser in 2006.  I was 407 lbs, the heaviest contesant until that time, and I lost 214 pounds in only 8 months.  That record has not been broken until recently by Danny Cahill, in Biggest Loser Season 8.

In January of 2009, I went public with my battle of weight gain after the show by appearing on Oprah.  On that episode, I admitted to everyone that I gained more than half the amount I lost on the show, after being invited to Oprah in October 2008, and declining to appear because of my weight gain.  I kept the weight off for almost a year and a half after the show ended and as life changed again, I found it difficult to balance and  it wasnt as easy to keep it off.  I began struggling with maintaining the vigorous exercise and diet regime.  I know how to lose weight, and I know how to gain it.  I recognized that I had a cloudy area when it came to maintaining it.  Yes, I had a personal trainer, no, it wasnt enough.  I was fighting the demons that I still had and I didn’t know how to deal with my food issues that were all still there.  I had the false sense that I would never gain it all back.  But, I am like many others that have ever lost.

You can follow my journey to lose it all again.

On The Biggest Loser Where Are They Now episode which aired November 25, 2009, I was asked to step on the big scale again at the Season 9 finale in May 2010.  My story is also going to be told in more detail when my Discovery Health Channel documentry which airs January 6,  2010 at 9:00 pm.
